Staff members of the University who proceed abroad on sabbatical/study leave/conferences, etc, can apply for a VOIP account to make/receive calls to/from University intercom lines.
You are required to download, fill and submit the VOIP application form in order to obtain this facility.

If you have a Wi-Fi/GPRS Java enabled mobile phone, you can use it as an intercom to receive/make calls to university intercom numbers free of charge.
You can try installing any of [Fring],
[Nimbuzz], [Tivi] in your mobile phone. Enter the username, password and the IP number
given to you by the VOIP service to activate the connection (Some phone models may not support voice calls).
